'Page to Stage' drama festival
Haygrove School hosted the first night of its 'Page to Stage' drama festival last night, showcasing the talents of its students through a series of captivating performances. This was a Haygrove Youth Performers in Education (HYPE) event, aiming to develop a love for the performing arts and boost students' self-esteem and confidence.
The festival continued with a diverse array of dramatic performances, including:
- 'Confrontation and Revelation' from J.B. Priestley's 'An Inspector Calls,' performed by Year 10 GCSE Drama students.
- 'The Great Pet Heist' from Willy Russell's 'Our Day Out,' performed by HYPE Juniors.
'Glory,' a devised physical theatre piece exploring war and conflict, performed by HYPE Boys - 'The Final Reckoning' from 'An Inspector Calls,' performed by Year 10 GCSE Drama students.
'Rhythms of Youth' from John Godber's 'Teechers,' performed by Year 11 GCSE Drama students. - 'The Trial Truth' from Arthur Miller's 'The Crucible,' performed by HYPE Seniors.
The festival also featured GCSE Drama students presenting their examination pieces, including monologues, duologues, and ensemble performances.
