Year 10 Geography Trip to Bristol

Year 10 Geography students spent two days in Bristol this week investigating urban regeneration as part of their GCSE fieldwork requirements. The visit focused on changes to the city’s historic harbourside and the ongoing regeneration of the Temple Quarter area near Bristol Temple Meads.
The day began with a boat tour of the floating harbour, where students learned about the historical development of the dock and how the area has been transformed over time. Students then carried out fieldwork in the Temple Quarter, collecting primary data to assess the success of recent regeneration projects.
The data gathered will be analysed back in lessons to support preparation for the Paper 3 examination at the end of Year 11. Students demonstrated excellent engagement and resilience throughout both days, particularly those attending on Wednesday who completed the fieldwork despite challenging weather conditions.
