Building Global Friendships with Yew Wah

As part of our partnership with the Yew Wah Foundation, our students have had the wonderful opportunity to work alongside Chinese students from Knowle Hall in a series of exciting joint activities this term. This cultural exchange has given our pupils the chance to make new friendships, develop their teamwork skills, and explore new ways of learning.

Together, the students took part in:

  • Pottery workshops, where they explored Aboriginal art and storytelling through clay design,
  • A science project, designing and testing wind turbines, experimenting with different blade angles to generate the most power, and
  • A memorable trip to the SS Great Britain, where both groups enjoyed exploring one of Bristol’s most iconic historic ships.

It’s been fantastic to see how well our students have connected with their Chinese buddies — learning from each other, building confidence, and developing a greater appreciation of different cultures.

We look forward to more opportunities to strengthen this international partnership and provide enriching experiences for all our children this year.
