Haygrove Trampoline Squad Shine at Regional Competition
Twenty-four members of the Haygrove Trampoline Squad took part in the South West Regional Schools Competition at Hutton Moor Leisure Centre in Weston-super-Mare on Sunday 7 December. Students competed against schools from across Somerset, Devon, Dorset and Cornwall and performed exceptionally well throughout the day.
The Year 7–9 Novice Girls team of Lena, Ellie, Izzy and Olivia achieved an excellent third-place finish in a highly competitive field of 53 competitors, qualifying for the Southern Zonals in January. A second Novice team of Betsy, Phoebe and Megan also performed strongly, narrowly missing qualification. Ellie and Betsy additionally qualified for the Zonals as individual competitors.
Outstanding results were achieved by the Year 7–9 Elite Girls teams, with the A team of Izzy, Mia, Maddie and Amy finishing in first place, and the B team of Sophie, Adalyne, Hallie and Esther securing second place. Individually, Mia finished first, Adalyne second, Izzy third and Sophie fifth, with all qualifying for the Southern Zonals alongside both teams.
Further success followed in the older age groups. Jamie placed first in the 10–14 Boys Elite category and qualified for the Zonals. In the 10–14 Elite Girls competition, Emily finished second and Siyaana third, both earning qualification. The Year 10–14 Novice Girls team of Izzy, Elliya, Rosie and Amber achieved second place in a very competitive group, while Lexie placed fifth, with all qualifying for the Zonals. Freya also performed well, narrowly missing qualification.
Overall, the squad delivered an outstanding performance, with 21 of the 24 students qualifying for the Southern Zonals in January. Congratulations to all involved, and sincere thanks to Den Gibbs, Ali P and Claire B, whose support was invaluable in helping the team on the day.
