Iceland Adventure for our Year 9-11 Students!

Last weekend, some of our students and staff had the incredible opportunity to visit Iceland. It was an action-packed tour with visits to:

  • Bridge Between Continents
  • Gunnuhver Hot Springs
  • The Lava Centre
  • Skógafoss Waterfall
  • Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach
  • Sólheimajökull Glacier
  • Seljalandsfoss Waterfall
  • Hellisheiði Geothermal Power Plant
  • Secret Lagoon
  • Geysir
  • Gullfoss Waterfall
  • Thingvellir National Park

The highlights were definitely hiking on the glacier using crampons, where students learned about glacial retreat, and swimming in the naturally heated geothermal Secret Lagoon at 38-40°C.

We enjoyed fantastic weather and managed to capture some stunning shots of the Northern Lights, thanks to the high pressure and clear skies.

Our students showed immense responsibility while traveling through the airport and demonstrated great resilience with a couple of early starts. It was an absolute pleasure to spend the long weekend with them. They were a credit to themselves, the school, and the staff on the trip. We had a brilliant time together!
